What if a single piece of paper could start a revolution?

Using Paper Cranes to Spread Hope About the School to Prison Pipeline

Our aim is to spread the word about injustices in our school system and also create on ongoing dialogue about the School To Prison Pipeline with the use of art.

We decided upon origami crane making and creating a thousand crane project borrowed from Japanese folklore that says that folding cranes inspires hope and folding a thousand cranes grants a wish. In our case a wish to eradicate school system injustices. Cranes are also a symbol of prosperity. Hope and prosperity both tenants of the Give Us Our Crowns initiative.

Look for our displays in many of the southwest Philadelphia small businesses, recreation centers, and schools!
